- Acacia Wood Wine Barrel -

Acacia wood, also known as "Black Locust," is a species of tree native to the southeastern United States - although its roots have spread worldwide, from Europe all the way to Asia and as far south as Southern Africa. To learn more about this species of wood, please visit the Acacia "Black Locust" section of our Wood Varieties Page.

Acacia is predominantly used in applications for furniture and flooring, however, its physcial and chemical properties have led this wood variety to become an integral material within the wine industry: Acacia wood is ideal for aging White wine.

At East coast wood barrels we offer 3 sizes of Acacia Barrels, all which come with optional European Oak heads as a means of imparting the "oaky" flavor onto the finished product.
